According to the Wu Xing system, used in Chinese medicine, from the original Tao, as a result of the interaction of Yin and Yang , the basic natural elements – water, wood, fire, earth and metal – emerged. Since then, all processes in the Universe are caused by the interaction of Yin and Yang with the 5 elements.
In the “Esoteric Classics of the Yellow Emperor,” it is said: “The essences of Yin and Yang and the four stages of the time cycle represent the beginning and end of the ten thousand being-objects and constitute the basis of death and birth.
If you violate the natural law, you will suffer from life. If you follow nature, there will be no diseases. This is called finding the path. The absolutely wise one is attuned to the true path in his actions, and the fool behaves only with respect to the true path.
Following the essences of Yin and Yang corresponds to life, and opposing corresponds to death. Following means healing and order, while resistance causes chaos and confusion. Intransigence is resistance. It corresponds to internal resistance.

The changes of Yin and Yang and the cyclical transformations of the primary elements influence the seasons and exert their influence on man, giving a special color to all his manifestations.
Observing the influence of the seasons on our lives and bodies is an insightful way to tune in to the world around us.
It is completely normal to sleep more, to be more introverted during the Winter as daylight decreases, while in the Summer with the increase in light we sleep less, to be more active, communicative and creative. Similarly to the circadian rhythm of the day, our psychosomatic state depends on the biological clock of the year.
“If someone wants to dominate the world and manipulate it, they will end up failing. Because the world is a sacred vessel that cannot be manipulated. If someone wants to manipulate it, they will destroy it. If someone wants to privatize it, they will lose it.”

The main principle of the life of a person who follows the Tao is Wu Wei or “non-forced action”, passive contemplation, action without action. Just as nature acts effortlessly, so our life should spontaneously conform to the natural order of things.
Based on the Wu Wei principle, a rule for cultivating vitality against the four seasons was proposed: spring – birth, summer – management, autumn – collection, winter – preservation.
In Chinese, the element – “xing” also means “movement”. The movement of the primary elements causes changes, both in the natural world and in the physical body. When a specific element is activated in nature (Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, Fire), then comes the best time for the observation and care of organs and systems that correspond to this element.
The summer season corresponding to the element Fire, according to the traditional solar-lunar calendar, began on May 5. On the day of the Summer Solstice, its influence peaks. The season of light is completed with the 18-day Interval period on August 8, which prepares us for the fruitfulness of Autumn and the activation of the Metal element.
As an element, Fire is associated with Light, with the energy that flows through our bodies. It represents the process of focusing attention, observation and awareness. It is the quality of consciousness that helps us feel and follow inspiration, inner joy, to support the vision whose realization fills us with vitality and enthusiasm.
In the cycle of life, Fire represents our most exciting, rebellious, expressive, romantic and dramatic years, the Summer of life. It is our adolescence and youth that over time should culminate in maturity, just as Summer culminates in Autumn.
Although the teenage and youthful aspects of our personality are full of passion and have high ambitions, they are often characterized by impatience, pride, sabotage, etc. The desire for unlimited freedom, the sense of extravagance, the belief that all our victories have not yet come, can have a negative impact on our current lives.
Bitterness, doubts, and anxieties may manifest more intensely during the summer season. These feelings arise from our reluctance to mature, to take responsibility for our own lives, to stop projecting our inner problems onto the outside world.
Fortunately, our teenage self will never grow up. It will remain forever young. With its dreams it will seek to fulfill, with the desires it will want to satisfy, with the inspirations and talents it will seek to express.
Simply, just as a child or a teenager needs the loving presence and guidance of an experienced and mature person, so too our teenage aspects, in order to feel free, not to feel the burden of obligations and not to be afraid to express themselves, need the presence of a brave, loving and compassionate, always connected to the Source and the Present, mature adult or “higher” self, whose existence we must cultivate.
When, from the position of the mature self, we begin to observe the impulsive dispositions we acquired at a younger age, we transform the tension accumulated as anger, hatred, and bitterness within our aching Heart into awareness and compassion for ourselves and other people.
Then, regardless of age, just as the Sun shines and nourishes life on Earth, the flame of love will burn within our Heart. It will nourish and sustain life in body and soul.
The Fire element encourages creative expression and strengthens persistence in achieving goals. In everyday life, it corresponds to any moment of mental clarity, awareness, success, happiness, any moment when we feel that our efforts are rewarded in one way or another.
The expression of the Fire element in nature is the time of flowering and fruit ripening. During the day, these are the brightest hours.
The Fire element phase follows the dawn corresponding to the Wood element. It is activated at approximately 9:00 in the morning, peaks at 12:00 noon, and around 3:00 p.m. is slowly replaced by the afternoon hours associated with the Metal element.
The virtue of Fire is Decency and Self-Confidence that does not project itself as something special, does not need to be constantly right and prove its worth.
The understanding that we are a part of the Whole and that things are interconnected in a network of a higher order and consciousness creates the phenomenon of synchronicity and the ability to be in the right place at the right time.
In the body, the Fire element is expressed in the Heart , which symbolizes the present, connection, presence, and guidance that arises from inner truth.
According to Chinese traditional medicine and Taoist philosophy, the Heart is the Emperor, the ruler of the mind and body. It controls all internal organs, emotions and thoughts. A good Emperor must be peaceful, full of love and compassion, so that harmony prevails in his kingdom.
The Pericardiumalong with the Heart governs the Fire element as Yin organs, as do the Small Intestineand the Triple Heater as Yang organs. It also corresponds to the cardiovascular and endocrine systems, blood, sweat and tongue.
When the Heart is strong, the blood vessels are resilient, the blood is rich in oxygen and nutrients, the heartbeat is full and regular, we have good physical endurance and digestion.
Fire is expressed in the sensory organ of the tongue. A normal tongue has a pale red color and the sense of taste is normal.
Healthy Fire manifests itself in clear speech and a pure voice, in the sparkle of the eyes and in the luminosity that the body emits. Illuminated thoughts are faster than sounds, faster and lighter than anything we know, like a wave force they permeate matter, changing and transforming the world.
The emotion of theHeartis joy: although all emotions originate from the Heart, joy is more closely related to the normal and pathological state of this organ.
Joy is a positive emotion that has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system. At the same time, excessive joy can disrupt normal heart function, causing the person to lose self-control and lead to nervous breakdown.
Fire governs interpersonal relationships, warmth, and the ability to connect with others. Its lack can lead to a “cold” Heart, devoid of joy and spiritual connection. The shadow of joy is the sense of insecurity and shame that results from emotional dependency and excessive striving for perfection.
Although Fire is considered more of a Yang element, it can exist in either a Yang or a Yin state as all elements have their Yin and Yang expression to maintain balance.
In the summer, two possible disturbances may alternate with each other.
Or Yang prevails with excessive activity and nervousness. A condition that leads to dehydration, dryness and a serious deficiency of Heart Yin. Which in turn can increase the body’s empty heat with the risk of hemorrhage.
Common causes are: stress and anxiety, physical overload and fatigue, persistent negative emotional state, excessive sexual activity and long-term illnesses. The pathogenic factor here may be Heat.
Either Yang deficiency occurs with the appearance of weakness, apathy and passivity. If the condition is left without our attention and care, it can lead to Heart Qi stagnation, depression, pain in the chest area, behind the sternum spreading to the inner surface of the left arm, in the left shoulder area or in the upper back with the risk of angina and ischemic heart disease.
The common causes are: emotional stress, physical and mental overload, bleeding, improper diet, excessive sexual activity and advanced age. The pathogenic factor here is Cold.
Heart Yang in excess manifests as:
Red color on the face.
Red eyes.
Feeling of heaviness in the chest area.
Tightness in the throat and difficulty speaking.
Sweaty palms.
Pain and stiffness in the chest and shoulders.
Hyperactivity.
Nervousness.
Inability to relax.
Constant thirst.
Inflammations.
Cold belly.
Rapid heartbeat.
Hypertension and dizziness.
Insomnia (with awakenings during the night).

“A calm mind – a strong heart,” they say in China. For the proper functioning of the Heart, good blood circulation is required and, most importantly, a healthy and calm emotional background.
In the era of Fire, it is favorable to protect the Heart by strengthening the Kidneys.
In the case of excessive Yang, we need more cooling foods, enough fluids to disperse heat, enhance detoxification, calm the Heart, remove heat from the Liver and relieve the Stomach and Lungs.
Therefore, it is good to hydrate the body, to drink plenty of lukewarm liquids, not ice cold ones.
Mint, spearmint and green tea will support the gentle functionof the Liver and Gallbladder, which according to Chinese healing tradition, along with the Kidneys, are responsible for the proper functioning of the Heart.
Alcohol and coffee, on the other hand, cause overstimulation of the Liver and increase Fire.
Sweet juices and compotes are recommended. Drinks made from boiled citrus peels (lemons, oranges, grapefruit) will remove excess heat.
Heavy drinks should be avoided, wine with water and bitter dark beer are allowed.
Foods that cool the body and help with fluid retention are fresh fruits and vegetables.
Cold soups and dairy products are beneficial, as they remove excess Heat. Summer is the only time when dairy products are truly beneficial (except for sour-tasting dairy products, which heat up the body).
Small amounts of salty foods will help stimulate the Kidneys.
Bitter, astringent and sweet extinguish Fire. All green leafy vegetables, bitter herbs, lettuce, parsley, dill etc. are beneficial in cases of increased Heat.
Sweet and juicy fruits such as watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes, peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums lower high internal Heat.
Cherries are allowed in small quantities as they burden the Stomach and Spleen.
Remember that fruits should be eaten in moderation and separately from any other food. The combination of sugar, fructose and fats or processed carbohydrates can lead to fatty liver disease.
Cereals in the form of porridge with melted butter, especially rice, millet, and oats, extinguish the Fire and cool the body.
Red meat, seafood, and fish raise Fire, while poultry, on the contrary, keeps it at low levels.
Sour and spicy foods generate Fire, as do fried and hot foods.
Dampness is the Yin state that afflicts the Yang energy, weakens the digestive fire, making it unable to complete its work. It can come from overthinking combined with a lack of action and movement in the desired direction.
Fire is weakened by overeating, even of foods considered healthy, and by overconsumption of cold liquids.
By reducing the consumption of cold raw and salty foods, sweets, saturated fats, and adding spices that enhance digestion such as ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom, we can increase Fire in the body when needed.
It is beneficial to sleep late and wake up early. Napping during the hottest hours is beneficial and helps maintain Yang.
To be outside during cool hours and in cool places, to do gentle exercise that does not tire the body so that we do not sweat too much, losing precious Yin.
Enjoying the beauty of nature will calm the mind and spirit.

And do not forget that in essence, you are not the body consisting of the 5 changing elements and the Yin and Yang transformations, nor the personality with its different aspects. Love and cherish yourself, create and make your dreams come true, but remember that you are not this role in the play being played on the stage of the worldly theater.
Nothing can harm or destroy what you truly are. You have always been, are and will be. You are the space where the show unfolds. Pure Consciousness and omnipresence, absolute Love, Light and Bliss, the ultimate Unity, the primal Tao, is our true nature which concepts and words cannot describe.
“The South gives birth to heat. Heat gives birth to the element Fire. Fire gives birth to bitter taste. Bitter taste gives birth to the Heart. The Heart gives birth to blood. Blood gives birth to the Spleen. The Heart controls the tongue.
In Heaven it corresponds to heat, in Earth to the element Fire. In man it is the energy channels. In organs, it is the Heart. In colors, it is red. In sounds, it is the sound – zheng. Among the modulations of the voice, it is laughter. Among emotional movements, it is sad thought, bitterness. Among emotional desires, it is joy.
Excessive joy destroys the Heart. Fear defeats joy. Heat destroys the Qi breath. Cold defeats heat. Bitterness destroys the Qi breath. Salty defeats bitter.”
“The three months of Summer are called the flowering. It is the time of the connection of the Qi breath of Heaven and Earth. Ten thousand entities-objects bloom and bear fruit. You should go to bed late and get up early. Do not stay under the sun for too long.
In emotional manifestations, beware of irritation. Let the flowers form fruits. It is necessary for the Qi breath to overflow in order for the excess to come out.
When the object of your desires is outside, then you follow the path of nourishing life and breathing Qi of Summer. If you violate the rules, you will harm the Heart, and in the fall you will fall ill with a chronic fever and there will not be enough strength for the harvest.
